Our Leaders

“Not that I have already obtained all this [perfection in Christ], or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” - Philippians 3:12

Pastor / Teaching Elder

Travis Heady

My name is Travis Heady, and I am the teaching elder / pastor here at Canyon Ridge Baptist Church since 2008.  My wife, Heather, and I are raising three beautiful daughters.  We live in LaPorte, and absolutely love this community.  I like fishing, paintballing, and camping.  I believe that there is a reason Jesus Christ takes hold of each one of us, a purpose that he has for us in this life.  I am passionate about seeking that purpose in my own life, and in helping others to see his purpose for them as well.  I don’t want us be content to just get by, and I don’t want us to get sidetracked by false purposes in the world around us.  I want us to ”press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called [us].”

 Elders

Jim Schultz

My wife Carolyn and I live in the Bellvue / Lory State Park area. We have three grown sons, all of whom love the Lord as their personal Savior. We have five grandchildren that also love the Lord as their personal Savior. Since I am a “gear head”, I have spent a lifetime of working and having fun with mechanical things – cars, motorcycles, boats, airplanes, etc.  Riding trails on the ATV with other “seniors” is my current sport. I am semi-retired, but I still spend several days a week moving trees with a giant tree spade. Our coming to Canyon Ridge was a decision to help support our local “Bible Believing” church. Our hope and prayer is that we can be instrumental in helping people to grow in Christ and for them to share their excitement with Northern Larimer County and beyond.

Richard (Dick) McClellan

Dick was born May 1941, and is a Colorado native. He grew up mostly in Hayden, Colorado and was born again at the age of eight. He has also lived in Ohio, Arizona and Texas, and has lived in the Fort Collins / Laporte area since June 1965. He served in the US Army, made a living as an Electrical contractor, and has spent 27 years as a Poudre Fire Authority Fire Fighter. Dick served as a deacon in 1997 and has been an Elder at Canyon Ridge since 2008. Two of his favorite verses are:

Matthew 6:33 - "But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
